The sad reality is that not only do we need more workplace regulation and unionized workers’ rights but we also need a government more supportive of women’s autonomy, and more supportive of working parents. When people have no great options, they try to find the one that does the most help while providing the least harm… though this is still very problematic, as exemplified in the choices many American workers face today.
