Excellent points! If only the prevalence and convenience of digital technologies did not detract from our writing and research skills. And I fear people’s overall writing/communication skills may continue to decline as we increasingly rely on AI and these digital technologies to “help” us. The slow, deliberate process of writing is much like conducting solid research; it needs to be methodical, but also exploratory, uncovering more and becoming clearer with practice and through doing the work.
