Great list! There’s a growing expat community in Mexico as well. There are definitely areas that are safer than others, and only certain parts where US Americans can buy land. In terms of visiting, I would also highly recommend seeing some cenotes and also the archaeological ruins of Chichenitza (excuse the spelling errors).
