I agree with the idea of people being unapologetically themselves. Your piece calls for a return to "traditional masculinity"; I'd modify this to also say we need a return to conscious masculinity. I believe in divine feminine and divine masculine energies (and I think everyone has some degree of both masculine and feminine energies, regardless of our biological sex or gender), though I do agree that women and men have, generally, fundamentally different energies (men tend to be more masculine and women more feminine, but this can vary).

The traits of traditional masculinity that you list - responsibility, leadership, strength, and independence - are all admirable qualities. Conscious men also recognize the importance of their energy being balanced by feminine energy and wisdom; we complement each other, and I think when our societies begin to systematically value women and women's labor more, both men and women stand to benefit.

For instance, women's labor tends to be devalued (housekeeping/domestic labor and child-rearing, as well as the feminized professions such as nursing and education). If we were all compensated with a universal basic income (UBI) and if there were more public daycares and after-school care, women would be on a more even playing field with men. Our current individualist, capitalist, and (yes) patriarchal system is not truly serving either men or women. Women's grievances are not necessarily with men but with being in a patriarchal system; and in this pandemic, strides toward economic equality between genders has backslid tremendously. So as a conscious man, it is important to value a woman and her time/energy; mutual respect and generosity attracts the same in multiples.
