I had a friend who also tried to recruit me, many years ago. I attended one of these recruiting sessions and like you, only did so because I was confident in my ability to stand my ground and also turned off my how aggressively they marketed to try to get new recruits to sign up on the spot. This was pre-Zoom days, so it put even more pressure on potential participants to join, but also came off as incredibly tacky and off-putting to me. I agree that while this company may help people in some ways, it is highly predatory and ultimately out to make a profit (with the profit motive coming across as higher than its mission to help people).
