I’m not arguing men should spend more money on the first date, it’s about the atmosphere and effort put into the date. A coffee is more for working remotely and friend/ colleague/casual hangs once you know someone & have a casual rapport with them. This is a generalization of course, but being conscious of atmosphere can be conducive to facilitating energetic sparks on a date.
