I’ve personally found that antidepressants can help lessen negative thoughts but also can numb me to the positive ones and to further foster a disconnection from myself. I’ve learned to work more with natural allies to help - mushrooms specifically have been phenomenal in helping me shift perspective from a victim mindset to feeling empowered and full of gratitude. Humans are all prone to anxiety and depression, as Dr Gabor Maté has discussed - our mental health symptoms are also manifestations of living in a sick and disconnected society.
