Never married, never divorced. I’m countering men’s entitlement. Men tend to act entitled to women’s energy, and my articles are to point out that greater effort helps to increase the likelihood of any worthwhile connection. As I’ve said in my articles, monogamy culture has eroded but so has men’s attitudes and behaviors toward women. I’m expressing my personal boundaries and preferences. I understand good and bad dates can occur regardless of the venue, but my point is that courtship and romantic gestures go a long way. In discouraging coffee dates, I’m also not advocating for crazy expensive first dates either, just somewhere with ambiance and more geared toward making a romantic connection. A little investment and courtship can go a long way.
