Our Shattered Love Affair

Your hand that once caressed my cheek

Now strikes where tenderness grew weak.

A love that promised endless blue skies

Now holds the storm within its eyes.

I’ve wronged you, yes, in ways I see,

With selfish acts that cut you deep.

But as your partner, I cannot bear the weight

Of punishing hands, fueled by hate.

And all the words you’ve said, a poisoned blade.

Cuts deeper than the scars it made.

How cruel, our dance of love and pain,

Where trust’s been drowned in endless rain.

Your voice, once soft, now coldly stings,

The melody of broken strings.

What vow can mend, what words restore,

When love’s become a clenched, locked door?

I held you close, my heart laid bare,

A fortress bound by hope and care.

But cracks have grown in walls of trust,

Beneath your hands, they’ve turned to dust.

How can betrayal wear your face,

The one I knew, the warm embrace?
