Spring Cleaning: Detox Tips to Help You Thrive This Spring

Many everyday detox practices support the body’s natural detoxification processes and promote physical and emotional well-being. You may or may not ask why one would benefit from actively working to detox one’s system. Why is such detoxing necessary?, you may ask.

Sadly, you also likely have some inkling why most, if not all of us, could benefit from actively working to detox our bodies. Humans are exposed to more toxins than ever, particularly if you live in a Western, industrialized country. In the US, where I currently reside, consumers have limited power; in Europe, in contrast, corporations are subject to more stringent regulations to protect consumers. Bioengineered foods and artificial food products that are allowed in the US are banned in Europe.

Regardless, environmental toxins that we tend to face exposure to include the following: herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, plastics, detergents, preservatives, cosmetics, gasoline additives, solvents, glues, and heavy metals.
