Thank you for this excellent article! I found the statistics interesting but not surprising. Older generations have weathered other storms and likely have more housing and professional stability than people under 35. We’re seeing the literal consequences - in terms of climate, socio-economically, and in terms of public health (physical & mental health) of living in late-stage capitalism where we are increasingly isolated and further alienated from people we don’t identify with by the innately polarizing and radicalizing nature of social media. I do believe it’s not coincidental that we are seeing the green wave and psychedelic renaissance emerge during this time, as humanity needs to find a return to our connection with ourselves, with each other, and with nature. I hope in 2023 we see our collective consciousness continue to find healing and transformation, and that new, more conscious models of living emerge as well.
