Children affected by neglect and childhood trauma may not only face CPTSD but are also affected by ACES (adverse childhood experiences), which research has shown will affect their outcomes (life outcomes, including longevity, as well as health and professional success). It's so important that we start having a more trauma-informed view of mental, physical and social health, and that parents and children become more supported than they are in our currently individualist nuclear family model.
