Was just coming here to say the same thing! It’s not just body image but it’s the fact that social media interaction is not quite the real thing, so it always leaves us waiting for the next “fix” of social interaction. The major platforms like FB and IG are also designed intentionally to be addictive, which is highly problematic. People filter not only their images but their entire realities/social lives, generally highlighting the good and obfuscating the hard parts. While I get and agree that social media can be helpful when the pandemic reality has many of us more isolated, it is still no substitute for real, in-person physical interaction and relationships.
